Canal clean-up day
Saturday, July 10 2010, 8:00am
The C&D Canal Clean up day is Saturday July 10. This is a volunteer day to maintain the retriever training grounds on the Canal. As in past years there are many jobs for people of all strengths and sizes.

The state of DE provides a dump truck and loader to pick up large pieces of trash. Several strong people go with them to pick up the big trash that has been dumped.

People also walk the roads with trash bags and 5 gal buckets picking up small trash and spotting large trash for the loader to pick up.

We also ask members with cutting equipment to bring it and trim around the ponds.

This year there is much grass that has not been cut. July 10 would be a good day for any member with a tractor and mower to do some grass cutting.

The club will provide soft drinks, trash bags and the five gal. buckets.

We meet at 8 AM at Mitchell pond, but feel free to come earlier or later as you schedule allows. We usually let everyone pick their own job depending what equipment they bring and what they feel comfortable doing.. Every one should bring a minimum of work gloves. We usually finish around 1 PM.
